We've been wanting a dog for a long time (hence one of the reasons we bought a home)!
We do a lot of dog searches on KSL and I found one yesterday about a family who had more dogs then the city allowed. Their neighbors were complaining too much and the officials asked the family to find new homes for 3 of their dogs (they had 5).

The add said they had until 6/22 to find him a new home or he'd have to go to the pound...
No one wants to see a dog go to the pound.
I asked Rob what he though and he said we should call on it.
We visited with Tony and his owners and loved him. He is so mellow and well behaved, we knew he'd be perfect!
So...
We took him home!
He was a little nervous for a while, anxious to be away from his family. But he mellowed out quick and just enjoyed hanging out.
He likes me more then Rob ;).
We have loud dogs that live behind us, so for now Tony wouldn't go too much in the back yard, just the front. But he'll get used to them soon and feel more comfortable in his new yard.
He is a follower. He follows you where ever you go. I think he is just so curious about anything you are doing.
His previous owners let him on their couch... We decided we didn't want him to continue that at our home. But when he jumped on the couch he was quickly obedient when we said, 'Tony, down.'
He is the exact dog I pictured having. I am sad we missed the puppy stage... but we know having a mature dog that is trained will be better for our needs right now.
He isn't fixed. He isn't hyper so I don't see the quick need to fix him. If by chance we don't get him fixed he can have puppies with a cute girl doggie and we can have one of them to raise! (I think if he bred with a bulldog or mastiff breed I'll have my perfect dogs! :D)
Also, we are thinking of maybe changing his name. He was named Tony after Tony Stewart, which I though was really funny. But... he isn't a speedster, he doesn't live on a high life, so I don't think for this family that Tony suites him.
Changing his name will take a long time. When we think of the perfect name for him we will just call him 'Tony-----' and then eventually just '-----' so he'll be used to it and know it's his name.
Come see him if you'd like! He is shy at first, but he'll get more comfortable in our home and soon be more relaxed and confident around other people!
