65 Degrees!

Yesterday, although it was cloudy, it was so warm and beautiful! So, Rob, Staci and I took off early from work, picked up Terri and went up the canyon to roast some hot dogs and marshmallows. It was a hoot!

The canyon is about 54 degrees, still so nice, but covered in snow.

We had to find a pit that wasn't surrounded by snow. The only one we could find had a mote of melted snow surrounding it so we were careful to stand on little logs while prepping the fire.

We ran out of our wood fast, but there was some extra wood left from the campers before us. There was a long piece of wood that I couldn't break, so I just put the whole thing in with half of it sticking out. No problem at all until Terri started poking at it with her roasting stick and the on fire wood tipped over the edge and nearly onto my lap, it was hilarious. I was flailing, Terri was holding her breath... and everyone else stood and watched. It fell sideways into the mote and splashed out. Good times with my mom trying to catch me on fire. :)

The dogs were great, and we roasted peeps for fun, as well as regular mallows and had us some smores. We so can't wait to go camping every weekend this summer... *sigh* It's so nice to be up there.
