My dream job is to teach history to high school students.
haha.
My second dream job, or maybe side job, would be to be a party planner! There are just too many fantastic ideas and crafts out there to make a party amazing.
I'm no pro, it's just a newly found favorite hobby.
The latest little shin-dig I threw was a party for my nieces and their moms (and my mom). A girl party. (missed you Liz!)
Um... I don't know what dream world I've been living on because for some reason I missed how incredibly hyper and obnoxious 6 little cousins can be. Pretty stinken hyper and obnoxious - in hind sight.
BUT, we still had a B.L.A.S.T.
And probably the most hyper of all was my older sister (not older because she's old. But because she's older than me. ;) Satisfied Nana?).
Anyway here are some pictures:
I figured little girls would be the most happy with the ability to grab a bag and fill it with a variety of treats. I was right.. haha. Also some bottled water and sugar free 'on the go' fruit punch packets.
We had a cupcake walk and you got to pick the plate of cupcakes that you wanted. My favorite were the cookie dough ones, cookie dough inside. :)
Other kinds included: nerds, kit kat, mini reeces peanut butter cups, m&m, strawberry, sour patch, and reeces pieces.
The candy bar ones also had a piece of candy bar inside. This is whipped Hershey's frosting. It was very wonderful.
Did I mention these are mini cupcakes? Just making sure, because I think 4 large cupcakes would have brought the wrath of mothers upon me.
We had a blast blowing up balloons and putting them everywhere. The initial reaction to these balloons was one of awe. It was awesome. Even Adelheid was amazed! She smiled so big and hugged me. It was very sweet.
We also had a photo booth set up so they could play around with props and such. I think it was a hit!
My 4 year old niece Ella. This pirate one is my very favorite.
My silly sister Shanna. She was the cause of the most noise haha.
The 'adults'. We all had a great time.
The girls all got a balloon filled with toys for favors. It wasn't the easiest thing to stuff tons of toys and confetti into balloons. But I'm sure when they popped them (I made them do it at home hahahaha, sorry moms!) I'm sure they absolutely loved it.
The moms got a little basket of fun stuff like stamps and ink pads, bath bombs, lip stuff, etc...
We played charades, cupcake walk, made shrinky dink earrings and a sort of dating game for the moms and daughters.
Here are some of the earrings the girls picked out:
We just printed those out on printable shrinky dink paper, cut'm out, tossed them in the oven and then I later glued them and sprayed them with coating to deliver.
Also, because my mom absolutely rocks and supports my party throwing addiction, she supplied a really fun dinner at her house with cookie cutter cut out sandwiches and soup. She's so lovely!
I am now moving onto Adelheid's first birthday... two months away!
I couldn't be more excited about it!! And all the birthdays to come. :D
And I have to shout out the my favorite party planning partner, Rob. Thanks for your patience and for letting me spend lots of money haha. And also, thanks for hiding the left over candy so I wouldn't eat it. :D
