I hope you all enjoy your fantastic 3 day weekend. We all deserve a great long break!
I've been reading a lot of books where the characters are deprived of the blessings and conveniences we have. Recently read was the Hunger Games and it's sequel (we've already got the third installment the Mockingjay pre-ordered). It's fantastic and really depicts a truly horrifying constricted lifestyle with an over powerful government resulting in strictly controlled districts with little freedoms.
Also I've been reading the Ember series (just on book two so far) and it's amazing how these people, both from Ember and from Sparks, have adapted to function without things we have, like knowledge.
So lately I've really been brought to ponder on our freedoms, our conveniences, our opportunities. Man do we take it all for granted!
I hope this Memorial Day won't be all about BBQ's and games, but families focusing on gratitude for what we have, and what we've been given.
And Especially because of the millions who've lost their lives, and made sacrifices, and still make sacrifices in order for us to have the conveniences we have.
Spencer W. Kimball said that 'Remember' could be the most important word in the dictionary.
